NATURE PROGRAMMES FOR THE SCHOOL HOLIDAYS
Nature @ Heart’s Holiday Programme is designed to allow working parents to keep their children safe, active and stimulated during the holidays. Our programmes are educational and fun, with many outdoor activities and interactive nature games. This allows the nature enthusiast child to explore nature and have fun while doing so!
Our holiday programmes are hosted from 09h00 – 15h00 during school holidays at Tygerberg Nature Reserve and Durbanville Nature Reserve (a half day option from 09h00 – 12h30 is also available). The programme is fully catered, with us providing healthy snacks, lunch and refreshments.

HOLIDAY PROGRAMME ACTIVITIES
Typical activities include amongst others:
- Snake / bird / puppet shows
- compass orientation and bird watching
- daily nature walks,
- scavenger hunts, knot tying and sling shot shooting
- arts & crafts
- Capture the flag, amazing races and fun relay games.
Daily exercise and warming up will be encouraged. Some activities are weather dependent and the programme may be adjusted according to weather.
Should there be rain, we have some exciting movies and education videos lined up! We also have a designated reader’s corner with fun kids’ books, colouring pages, puzzles and board games.
