HOLIDAY PROGRAMME
Looking for some great holiday entertainment for your children? Nature @ Heart’s Holiday Programme is designed to allow working parents to keep their children safe, active and stimulated during the school holidays. Our programmes are educational and fun, with many outdoor activities and interactive nature games.
Nature @ Heart’s holiday programmes are hosted from 09h00 – 15h00 during school holidays at Tygerberg Nature Reserve, Bracken Nature Reserve and Durbanville Nature Reserve. Half day options are also available (09h00 – 12h30). The programmes are fully catered, with us providing healthy snacks, lunch, refreshments and water throughout the day.
Our holiday programmes include a wide variety of engaging activities and are suitable for kids between the ages 6 – 12 years old. A maximum of 30 learners will be booked on the programme with a minimum of 2 facilitators (1 per 15 kids) per day.
Typical holiday programme activities may include snake and bird shows, compass orientation and bird watching, daily nature walks, scavenger hunts, knot tying and sling shot shooting, arts & crafts, capture the flag, amazing races and fun relay games.
Some of our activities are weather dependent and the timing of the various programme segments may be adjusted according to weather. Should there be rain, we also have some exciting movies and education videos lined up! There’s also a designated reader’s corner with fun kids’ books, colouring pages, puzzles and board games.
